RI3K Trading Service : RI3KNet

Introducting RI3KNet
RI3KNet is an alternative way to connect to the RI3K Trading Service, and to other user companies. It does not use the public Internet. Instead it uses RI3K's own private network, provided by NTT Europe.

What's the benefit to users?

The Internet is a free public service. RI3KNet is not. As a result, RI3KNet provides benefits that the Internet cannot and never will offer. The end result is that the traffic on RI3KNet is specific to RI3K usage. It's like having the Internet with only one web site on it, or a motorway dedicated to your car only. The effect of such low traffic is that the pages and files load much more quickly and the users in your company get a greatly enhanced service and experience. This helps with adoption and acceptance of electronic trading.

What's the benefit to companies?

Using a 'private Internet' - or a private network - means that the data and sessions that take place on RI3KNet are invisible to hackers and electronic spy-ware. Whilst all data passed from RI3K sessions is carefully secured through encryption, this extra layer of security is seen as Best Practice in other major financial services sectors, which all offer private networks to their traders. In some instances large companies make it a compliance mandate to have private networks for financial trading.

How does it work?

Your company will need a private link to RI3KNet service. That means that all activity between your company's users and RI3K can then be directed to take place over that single, secure, private line. No other traffic, apart from RI3K-related business, will pass over that line. The result is that during peak seasons the volumes of RI3K log-ons, big files and RI3K page downloads will not suffocate your company's access to other Internet sites.

Is it difficult to implement?

RI3K will organise the service for you. You need to agree the contract terms and then NTT Europe, RI3K's service provider, will contact you to arrange a date for the connection. This will require a router to be installed at your company and the corporate firewall to be amended to switch all RI3K traffic to the new line. That should be all that is required. Most companies already have private lines in place and understand the relatively simple process of implementation. RI3K's Client Services is the point of contact for ongoing support.
